The theory of modular forms, as a core content in the field of number theory, holds a pivotal position in the development of modern mathematics. It not only has profound intrinsic connections with multiple branches of mathematics such as the theory of elliptic curves, algebraic geometry, and representation theory, but also plays a crucial role in significant mathematical problems like the proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. This series of talks mainly introduces the basic theory of modular forms and its extensive applications in the field of number theory.

报告人简介：

刘治国，华东师范大学数学科学学院教授，博士生导师，主要研究领域为量子无穷级数理论，椭圆函数理论和数论，已公开发表80余篇研究论文。曾多次应邀赴海外大学进行合作研究。主要研究工作在于提出了计算量子无穷级数和量子积分的新理论，该理论被美国数学会会士Mourad E. H. Ismail教授称为 “Liu’s Calculus”。曾获1998年度王宽诚皇家学会研究奖学金等奖项。
